Product Overview
10 Frame Reversible Bottom Board
Introducing our innovative 10-Frame Reversible Solid Bee Hive Bottom Board – the foundational piece your beekeeping setup has been missing. Crafted with precision and designed to enhance the longevity and productivity of your hive, this bottom board is an essential component for any beekeeper who demands excellence and sustainability! 10 frame solid bottom board comes assembled, painted and ready to use for your convenience!
Our reversible bottom board features a versatile design with a 1/2" entrance on one side and a 3/4" entrance on the other, catering to different needs within your beekeeping routine. The reasoning behind the two distinct entrance sizes? The 3/4" opening serves as the standard entrance height, perfectly sized to accommodate a wooden entrance reducer, while the additional 1/2" of space underneath enhances airflow within the hive. When flipped over, the board presents a 1/2" opening, offering a more compact entrance option. This alternative configuration is particularly useful for those seeking a narrower entryway, although it doesn't confer any significant advantages beyond size preference. Please note: if using the bottom board with the 1/2" space, the included wooden entrance reducer will not work with the hive set up.
Compatible with any standard 10-frame Langstroth beehive, our bottom board seamlessly integrates into your existing setup. Its precise craftsmanship ensures a snug fit, minimizing gaps that can allow pests to enter. The simplicity of its design also makes hive inspections and maintenance a breeze, saving you time and effort.
Whether you’re a seasoned beekeeper or just starting, our 10-Frame Reversible Solid Bee Hive Bottom Board is the reliable choice for optimizing your hive’s environment. Enhance your beekeeping experience and assure the prosperity of your colony with this indispensable hive component.
All bottom boards include a 2 sided wooden entrance reducer.
Helpful tips:
- Help your bees and clean off your bottom board every spring. Debris and dead bees will accumulate on the bottom board in the winter, which can easily be removed by the beekeeper when using our Ultimate Bottom Board Cleaner.
- Position your hive to be as level as possible, but with a minor forward incline, ensuring the front of the bottom board sits 3/8" lower than the rear. This slight adjustment helps to avoid water accumulation at the back of the hive.
