Please note: Brackets work best when placed on the first box of a 2 story (at least) bee hive, with the weight of the 2nd box on top. If the perch is being used on the same box that is being inspected, then care must be taken to prevent the brackets from sliding apart ont he box; if brackets slide apart, frames will drop to the ground, and queen / worker bees can be killed, and frames can be broken.
Frame perch brackets measure 4" wide x 8" tall, and can hold 2 - 4 frames during inspection, depending on how far out the bees have pulled the wax on the frames. The removal of even just 2 frames from the bee box will give you sufficient room to finish your inspection easily and without fear of injuring your queen.
